  • Thornton-le-Moors Parish Council

    Thornton-le-Moors is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. At the census of 2001 it had a population of 260, reducing slightly to 253 at the 2011 census.

    The village is seven miles north-east of the city of Chester. It is situated to the south of the A5117 road. To the north of the village is the Stanlow Refinery. To the west is the nearest town of Ellesmere Port and to the north-west is the nearest village, Elton.

It is situated approximately 13 km (8.1 mi) to the northeast of Chester, between Helsby and Ellesmere Port, near to the River Mersey. Its proximity to the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal have contributed to its industrial character.

  • The Duke of Wellington

    The Duke of Wellington is a beautiful traditional pub located the peaceful village of Ince.

    Newly refurbished throughout, the Duke is the best place in the local area to kick back, relax and grab a bite to eat with friends and family.

    We’ve got a full program of events throughout the week from craft clubs to our Stay and Play afternoon for Toddlers, babies (and parents!) and for our older customers we have our Good Morning Club from 11.30am with Tea, Coffee and pastries. A great chance to catch up with the locals and discuss the latest headlines.

    Saturday is family day, with our fun family Bingo and Quizzes from 2.30pm onwards. And after all of that, why not join us on Sunday for our traditional Sunday Roast!

  • Hayrack Church Farm

    The perfect venue for a fantastic day out, the whole family can enjoy.

    Here at the farm we have a magnificent variety of animals and birds. You will have the opportunity to feed, touch and interact with the animals or just relax on the decking overlooking the duck pool with its tranquil waterfall.

    The Hayrack Cafe is a welcoming place, open daily serving a delicious range of freshly prepared 'home-style' snacks and cooked meals. The childrens menu is always popular. We also serve an impressive selection of tempting home bakes, cakes and biscuits plus a large selection of the famous 'Kellys Ice Cream'.

    Our outdoor decking area is the perfect place to relax and watch your little ones amuse themselves on our fun filled adventure playground which will keep them occupied for hours!
